SCOPE-RD Khammam organised district level Award distribution to the Journalists on 20.11.2017 in TTDC buildings, Khammam. The purpose of the program is to felicitate the champions who contributed their services in protecting and promotion of rights of girls, prevention of child marriages, child trafficking, encouraging secondary education and JOVT for girls
OBJECTIVES:
- To felicitate the champions from the respective categories who began to take action in addressing the child issues by sensitising parents, men, women, boys and girls.
- To motivate the duty bearers including community leaders for coming forward with their actions to address Child Marriage and Child Trafficking with preventive and protective actions.
Details of honourable guests: Sri. M. L. Prasad, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee presided the function. K. Vinod Kumar Secretary DLSA (District Legal Services Authority), Khammam was the Chief Guest, Sri. Ashok Garu, renowned film director, Golden Nandi award winner as a guest of honor was the guest of honor. Smt. R. Varalaxmi District Welfare officer, Khammam, Dr. K. Pradeep Kumar, President for SHIKA foundation were other guests. Girls from different schools & colleges, Youth Advocates, representatives from CSO, awardees, their family members and press personnel participated in this program
After Inaugural and sharing’s sessions, the signature campaign is started and signatures are being given by guests in the signature campaign. After the signature campaign felicitation program is started. 15 champions from different sectors awarded for their best services towards the best interest of the children.
Outcome of the program: All the champions /Awardees expressed their heart full thanks to the GAA team for honoring & felicitating them for the good cause i.e. protecting & promoting the child rights. They assured to work more for the best interest of the children in the Khammam.
