Mr. M. Lourdu Prasad was born on 4th August 1974, in remote village of Jogipet in Nizamabad district, Telangana. He obtained Master’s degree in English from Osmania University, Hyderabad, Master’s degree in Social Work from Nagarjuna University, Guntur and he honored with certificate in Child, Youth and Development Post Graduate Course at ISS, Netherlands on 2005.
Mr. M.L. Prasad is the pioneer in initiating Juvenile Justice Desk, Andhra Pradesh., Child Safety Net Desk in Krishna district, A.P. His services are highly appreciated in united Andhra Pradesh Child Rights Advocacy Foundation, Home-link & Missing Child Search Network- Young at Risk, Delhi, Forum for Child Rights- CHILDLINE (1098), Vijayawada and Eluru (West Godavari) and National Juvenile Justice Desk- A.P. He has been working for the most deserve children since 2000.
Mr. M.L. Prasad, had vast experience in implementation of juvenile justice system in united Andhra Pradesh. He was part of the study conducted by UNICEF on the status of Juvenile Justice System in Andhra Pradesh in 2006. Thereafter, he headed Juvenile Justice Desk, Andhra Pradesh and carried out several orientation programmes within the Child Care Institutions and facilitated improvement in the living conditions of the children and thereby speedy home placements of the children. He invited collaborations of the civil society organizations and line departments to come under one platform called child justice forums for consolidated efforts in ensuring justice to the children. Apart from the aforementioned, he also sensitized and mentored District Special Juvenile Police Units and brought out publications viz., Balalalku Bharosa and Balala Hakkula Kosam for easy understanding of the child related schemes, legislations, and services. He facilitated and restored justice to the child victims of abuse and violence in various parts of Telangana state. Consequently, he was appointed as the Child Welfare Committee- Khammam consecutively two times (since 2011). He got Child Welfare Merit Award – Khammam district.
In 2005, the general body of Society for Community Participation, Education in Rural Development (SCOPE- RD) anonymously elected him as executive secretary in governing body meeting. He has been rendering his services for the organization since 2005 and the organization gained outstanding results in reaching out to the marginalized in rural and tribal locations of Khammam and other parts of the state
